Team Tsunami

  • The season theme is SUBMERGED so we decided to name our team just like Tsunami waves which are barely noticeable but move exceptionally fast and hitting the shore with not a single but a series of waves just like our robot design-Fast & impactful with each mission.

  • My key role and responsibility- Team Leader & Builder. I contributed to robot design, testing and improving mission reliability. I also helped analyze failed runs and suggest modifications.

Our Robot Design

Our mission is to build and program a robot with different attachment to complete all the mission on the SUBMERGED field mat.

Challenges we faced

  • Members only wanted to build and not work on the long and tedious coding for multiple missions. As Team leader I suggested to assign one mission to each member, work on the coding for 20 mins then rotate to test each other's program. As we progressed everyone got excited to test each other's work and became invested and determined to complete!

  •  To maintain consistency- The robot can complete mission individually but not when combining them into full runs due to alignment issues. We solved this by simplifying the attachments and recalibration.

Team KAV Dragon

  • First time representing Monfort Junior school as Team leader and CCA leader.

  • My Key role and responsibility-Team Leader and coder. I contributed to coding, robot testing, debugging, attachment optimization and problem-solving through the developement process.

Our Robot Design

Our mission was engineering with empathy, to design and build a design solution to solve real world social challenges.

Challenges we faced

  • Members just started learning coding with spike prime and not confident, however they are very proficient in building. So, I allocated task based on each other strengths while coaching them on the coding part along the way.

  • First presentation experience for the members.

  • Challenging thinking process on how a simple robot can solve real world problem, we have many ideas but hard to put it into real design concept.

Team Uno Reverse

My first FLL competition and youngest in the team.

UNO Reverse because we "tombalek" the idea of always winning in games. Always needing to win is unfair. We believe in win-win. Everybody can win.

My key role and responsibility- Builder and Material Manager.

Our Robot Design

  • Our mission was how STEM and robotics can improve the way people experience arts and entertainment experiences. Our robot design needed to be interactive and creativity focused.

Challenges we faced

  • Each robot run is limited to only 2 mins and 30 seconds.

  • We need to build a compact chassis for easier turning and faster movement and yet precise alignment.

  • Many disagreements on the robot design, everyone has their own concept.

  • Robot inconsistency, time management and mission accuracy
